Mutli-family home starts in the Calgary CMA in October made up 56% of all starts, led by the highest monthly total of row housing starts in 20½ years.

Construction started on 438 multi-family homes last month, compared to 230 starts last October, continuing a 10-monthstreak of monthly year-over-year increases and it’s fair to say builders had their starts in a row last month.“A majority of the multi-family starts can be attributed to row housing, as the 250 row housing units started in October represent the highest number of row starts for any month since May 1990,” says Richard Cho, CMHC senior market analyst for Calgary to read more by Calgary Sun click here

The Jeff Campbell Team held its 1st Annual Great Pumpkin Give-Away on October 16 at 9:00 a.m. on Coventry Hills School Sports Field on Coventry Hills Way NE. The Pumpkin give-away was held in Coventry Hills a community of Calgary Alberta. It was near 0 temperature, everyone had a great time with over 700 pumpkins given away! We also had Smarties as treats for all and our environmental shopping bags to give away; we have now handed out more than 15,000 Jeff Campbell Team environmental shopping bags. We look forward to next year’s event, I hope with more great weather!

According to data released today by Statistics Canada, average weekly earnings including overtime for non-farm payroll employees rose in June in the province to $1,003.53. That was up 1.9 per cent from May and by 5.2 per cent from June 2009.

Albertans continue to enjoy the highest average weekly earnings of all provinces in the country. That was up 1.9 per cent from May and by 5.2 per cent from June 2009. Nationally, between June 2009 and June 2010, the average weekly earnings of non-farm payroll employees rose by 4.0 per cent to $853.50. No major industrial real estate projects are expected to come online between late 2010 and early 2011 in Calgary until development costs decrease and market lease rates increase, says a report by CB Richard Ellis. This coupled with continued positive absorption (the change in occupied space) could push vacancy rates below three per cent within 18 months, says the commercial real estate company.
